Tiger Tiger A Memoir By Margaux Fragoso

Book Review: Tiger, Tiger: A Memoir by Margaux Fragoso

 Title: Tiger, Tiger: A Memoir
Author: Margaux Fragoso
Genre: Memoir, Non-Fiction
Source: Amazon
Price:  $10.00 ( What I paid )
Rating: 4.5/5

This book was a difficult story to read about child abuse in more ways than one. Margaux had a mentally ill Mother and an abusive Father making her very vulnerable to her predator. Peter, who was 51 years old when 7 year old Margaux met him, soon became the only person who ever really loved her. At least, that is what he led her to believe. In the book she says that "She became Peter's religion". Peter of course, was really a pedophile who had also victimized other children before Margaux, a fact which she learned much later.

The book shows us how a predator works and grooms his victims. With a house full of wonderous pets and a nice garden, all the things a child would love.In this particular case he held onto Margaux's emotions for 15 years. This book gives you a graphic history on the evolution of this very sick relationship. It also shows how people are keenly aware yet turn a blind eye to this type of abuse. With no holds barred it is not for the faint of heart.

I enjoyed reading this book as difficult as it was. I see it as an educational tool, in that it shows us how the vulnerable among us can be victimized. I would suggest it to anyone who wants to learn more about how predators lurk among us.
